Yappy Birthday!

Happy Thursday!

I created this card as part of the MFT Color Challenge #109. The stamp set is from MFT as well. Read on to see how I made the card!

I used a couple of post-its and my ruler to create a sort of mask for my "floor" so I could create a "wall" in the upper portion of the card.

I used this beautiful background stamp from io. stamps. I used my blender to apply the Lucky Clover distress oxide to the stamp.

I used my blender to put some more oxide on the background.

Then, I used my post-its to mask off the "wall" so that I could create a "floor". I used Walnut Stain distress ink.

My favorite part! The puppies!! This stamp set is called Canine Companions and is from My Favorite Things. I stamped these guys out with some Black Tuxedo Memento ink and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

I colored them all in with my Copics. Here are the colors I used for each:

I used my Gelly Roll pen on all of the dogs (I just forgot to put it in some of the photos!)

I stamped "Yappy Birthday" with Versamark watermark ink and then heat embossed it. I used my sentiment dies (from Simon Says Stamp) to cut it out. (Not shown - I used scissors to cut it down farther.)

I bought this adorable Stampendous stamp set from Michael's and I've used these light strands on a TON of cards. I use them for Christmas lights, party lights, and outdoor string lights! I stamped them with Black Tuxedo Memento ink.

I repositioned the stamp to make a longer strand of lights.

At this point, I adhered everything to my card using double sided tape and 3D foam tape. I created a "shadow" of the puppies with a few Copic markers.

I added my Nuvo drops to my lights.

I used the balloon from the Woodland Gifts stamp set from Mama Elephant and randomly placed some balloons (using my handy dandy Post-It to keep my puppies safe from ink!

I colored the balloons and then added highlights with my Gelly Roll pen.

And all done! Here are some more close-ups!
